Veteran disc jockey and radio host DJ Fresh has denied the rape allegations leveled as well as accusations of gender-based violence (GBV), urging victims of GBV to speak up and speak out.
A Twitter user who goes by the name Sipelele Madikizela (@Nampree) had accused DJ Fresh on Tuesday of drugging and raping her and her three friends in 2011. She said she wasn’t sure if it was DJ Fresh who raped her or DJ Fresh and DJ Euphonik, who was apparently present at the time.
She claimed she was a virgin at the time of the incident. She also said she had to take anxiety meds to be able to post her rape allegations against the two disc jockeys and radio personalities. You can check out her post below.
DJ Fresh and Euphnonik are said to be off air following the rape allegations leveled against them. According to Gauteng police, formal case of rape has been opened against the two DJs by Sipelele Madikizela.
In a statement, DJ Fresh denied the rape allegation as well as ever knowing the woman. He described the allegations as spurious, adding that it’s the price one has to pay for being in the public eye.
