Lady Du Apologises Over Comment About Tyla’s Met Gala Outfit

Lady Du has apologised over the comments she made about her compatriot Tyla on her Met Gala debut.

In case you missed it, on Tyla’s debut at the Met Gala, Lady Du had observed the dress the “Water” hitmaker wore and wasn’t in the least impressed.

Reacting to the dress, Lady Du stated that Tyla should have worn a local print and design, as that would have drawn more attention not just to her person but to South Africa as well.

Well, some of Tyla’s fans weren’t having it. They attacked her over her comments, with some of them claiming that she was simply jealous of the singer, who has achieved enormous success, winning a Grammy, at just 22 years old.

Well, Lady Du appeared to have reconsidered what she wrote about Tyla and made amends accordingly. In a tweet on her official X account, she pointed out her ignorance of the theme of the occasion.

Beyond that, she also noted that she doesn’t do red carpets and is therefore not informed in that department. She only realised her mistake after she had already posted. You can check out the post below.

Tyla didn’t react to Lady Du’s criticisms back then, and it is unlikely she would react now.
