Lalela Mswane Still In The Contest For Miss Universe

The current Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane has described as false and misleading claims that she had withdrawn from the Miss Universe contest.

The Miss Universe contest will be held in Israel. Some people and organizations, including the Palestine Solidarity Organization, have been calling on individuals to boycott the pageant in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The Organization had also reported that the South African beauty queen had withdrawn from the contest, a report that has since been found to be untrue

Lalela Mswane would be following in the steps of fellow beauty queen and former Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi, by rocking her natural hair.

Ms Tunzi had stunned the world by refusing to bow to pressure to look a certain way. In lieu of weaves, she had rocked her natural hair at the pageant and was ultimately crowned winner. Her win reverberated across the world and opened doors for other women to do the way.

With claims of Lalela Mswane’s withdrawal from the contest since confirmed to be false and misleading, expectation are high in Mzansi over how she would perform in the land of the Jews.

If she should win, it would be another testament to the beauties out there that being natural is the new woke.
