Until his death at the age of 55, Mjokes was a member of the celebrated kwaito band The Trompies. The group ruled the airwave around the 2000s but declined in visibility and relevance soon after.

Mjokes’ death shocked many in the music industry, including close associates, who detailed fine memories of him in posts on social media when news of his death broke.  He’ll be sorely missed by those who have come to love his person and his music, especially by his Trompies brothers.
