Late Mjokes Memorial Service Announced, See Details

Mzansi musician and director of Kalawa Jazmee records Mjokes, who perished in a road accident recently, is to be honoured in a memorial service, according to a flier from his family and friends.

According to DJ Mahoota, a friend of the deceased, the memorial service will hold today 27 May 2021 from 1:30pm to 2pm. Venue is Newtown Music Factory (Baseline) at No. 10 Hendry Nxumalo/ Newton, Johannesburg.

Those who wish to attend are advised to wear nose masks and comply with other COVID-19 guidelines. Attendance is also limited as a result of the coronavirus. See the flier below.

Until his death at the age of 55, Mjokes was a member of the celebrated kwaito band The Trompies. The group ruled the airwave around the 2000s but declined in visibility and relevance soon after.

Mjokes’ death shocked many in the music industry, including close associates, who detailed fine memories of him in posts on social media when news of his death broke.  He’ll be sorely missed by those who have come to love his person and his music, especially by his Trompies brothers.

Well, are you looking forward to the memorial service? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below. Way to go!
