Media personality Leanne Manas is one good example of the maxim that people are watching and that hard work certainly pays. Two days ago, on Tuesday, May 17, he was honoured with the Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite (Knight of the French National Order of Merit) by the French government.
The honour recognised her contributions to journalism, media, and several other charitable causes. The French ambassador to South Africa, H.E. Mr Aurélien Lechevallier, presented the award to her on behalf of President Emmanuel Macron.
The event was held in Johannesburg at Sanctuary Mandela, the residence of South Africa’s first black president, Nelson Mandela.
The ambassador noted that it was a privilege for him to present the award to someone who has excelled in her field. Leanna Manas exemplifies excellence and what it means to be a true South African at the forefront of news and journalism.
The news of her award provoked a storm of congratulations and good wishes from her friends and associates, including Yusuf Abramjee and Mzwandile Mbeje.
