Mzansi actress Leleti Khumalo pays homage to her late husband, Mbongeni Ngema.
“Imbewu: The Seed” is not letting her former husband, Mbongeni Ngema be forgotten easily. She recently took to social media to honor his memory, and her fans were touched. Ngema had passed suddenly, and Leleti chose to honour him despite allegations of abuse.
She wrote,
“We are deeply saddened and shocked by the death of Mbongeni Ngema. He was a pioneer of protest theatre and has left a rich legacy in the theatre world.”
“At this sad time, we send our profound condolences to his family, and in the tradition of our culture, we would like to give them the space to grieve. May the Lord give them strength as they come to terms with this immense loss. May his soul rest in peace.”
Fans were touched by the post and took to the comments to react. @VictorMkhetsane wrote, “I know she’s a better human being than me cos I would’ve mized or send out something like ‘Good Riddance to bad rubbish.’ “
