Lerato Mvelase Opens Up About Her Childhood Adversities

Popular Mzansi actress Lerato Mvelase has opened up about her childhood adversities and how they shaped her in handling things now.

We all love it when our favourite celebs open up about their journeys and how their past experiences shaped who they are today. We don’t see a lot of that happening because most celebs refuse to be vulnerable and share.

Lerato Mvelase recently appeared on the What A Week podcast with DJ Fresh, where she spoke about her childhood experiences. She revealed that she came from a humble background and was only given R5 for school. She said,

“As a kid, I remember we didn’t have money at home and I would miss school, but I couldn’t afford to miss school because I couldn’t speak English. I was there with Madiba and Sisulu’s grandkids. It was that school, you know and I was just this kid whose mom worked at a factory as a seamstress. I used to get R5, what do you buy for lunch at Sacred Heart with R5?”

Looking at her successful career, she said, “I’ve done so well,”

She continued, “You know my nature is that of handling things, so I handle things myself, and that’s just who I am.”
