Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson Remembers Stepfather Shona In An Emotional Instagram Post

Memories are forever, as we find out again and again. For South African actress Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson, nothing beats the memory of her late stepfather, Shona Ferguson, who died of COVID-19-related complications in 2021.

Shona Ferguson’s death came as one of the biggest shocks of that year because he was as fit as could be. And just like that, we died. Mzansi was stunned, and many are still yet to get over the pain of the Ferguson Films boss’s passing.

One such person is Lesedi, who remembered her stepfather in an emotional Instagram post about two months after his death. Her post encapsulated in video different moments of the much-loved film boss during his sojourn on the material plane.

In the caption to her post, she noted it’s been 20 months since the tragedy of Shona’s passing, but it still hurts, and it still feels like yesterday. You can check out her post below.

The post attracted many South Africans, some of whom consoled her that Shona had to go so early. To some, the consolation was that he made a significant impact in the entertainment industry before he died.

Indeed, Shona Ferguson was planning to build a film school in South Africa when death intruded.
