it is often said that one thing that is certain about contestants on reality shows is the uncertainty of their fates – anything can happen at any time, with some of them losing their spots for one reason or another before the end of the show.
This reality manifests all around us. But our latest example comes from none other than the Big Brother Mzansi reality show, which has just evicted one of its housemates, Liema.
Eviction might not be the right word to describe Liema’s exit from the show seeing as she had the chance to stay and probably iunch into the final but opted for an R250k cheque instead.
She became R250k richer but could not proceed to the final of the show – her decision entirely. She lost her spot on Monday, March 18, becoming the fourteenth contestant to be evicted from the show.
Given the option to press the buzzer, receive an R250k cheque and exit the show, she took it. It was a move some of her fans had not seen coming and they felt disappointed and betrayed that she wouldn’t fight it out to the end but opted for some cash which is way lower than what she would have got if she won.
