Like Makhadzi, Like Paige: Amapiano Singer Makes Damaging Accusations Against Open Mic Productions

Amapiano singer Paige has just lashed out at Open Mic Productions, noting that the record label has never paid her a cent despite her releasing a couple of hit songs.

Her claims came on the heels of a similar claim made by popular Venda singer Makhadzi, who insisted that she never got a cent from the record label despite releasing four albums in the three years she was signed there.

She had also rejected the claim made by the label that she signed an auto-renewable contract with Open Mic. In anger, she announced her departure from the label while also informing the public she should no no longer be booked through Open Mic Productions.

Commenting on Makhadzi’s “travail,” Paige noted that she was going through exactly the same challenge at Open Mic Productions. She insisted that the record label has never paid her anything for her music – not even R1.

At the time of writing, the record label had not responded to her claim. This series of bad publicity, though, would not do the label any good. It risked being dubbed another Ambitiouz Entertainment – a record label infamous for having fought almost every artist signed to it. Well, time will tell.
