Kwaito musician L’vovo Derrango has suffered a minor stroke and had to be hospitalised. The news of his hospitalization rang like a shot throughout South Africa, leading to waves of concern for his safety.
L’vovo’s hospitalization for stroke follows a similar affliction another kwaito musician had suffered days earlier. Mandla Mampintsha had suffered a stroke just days earlier and had passed away soon after, leading to cries of mourning across South Africa.
In fact, in the case of L’vovo, at some point when the news broke that he had suffered a minor stroke, word started flying that he had passed away from the affliction. However, at the time of writing, we can confirm that L’vovo is still alive.
He had suffered a stroke, but he is still very much on the material plane like everyone else.
His record label confirmed he indeed suffered a stroke while performing at Indwedwe on December 23, was admitted to the hospital for medical attention and is currently responding to treatment.
The label also implored the public to keep L’vovo in their prayers while respecting the privacy of the musician whose legal name is Tokozani Sphamandla Ndlovu. You can check out the statement below.
