American musician Lil Nas X has just apologised to the trans community for his recent action which was pegged as a transgression against trans. The “Montero” chanter had joked that he had transitioned even though he hadn’t at the time.
In a now=deleted tweet, the songster had shared an image of a woman with great resemblance to him. In the caption, “The surgery was a success.” However, on March 15, he had a complete volte-face. he not only deleted the message but apologised to the trans community, noting that he had handled the situation with rather. Yes, he could have done better, so he is sorry and sending love to those he might have hurt that way.
While some tweeps appear in the mood to condone his transgressions, forgive him and move on, others are having none of it but are asking for him to go beyond offering an apology by also giving a platform for the trans community and supporting them financially.
The call for financial support for the trans community as well as giving them his platform appeared to have irked the songster and he fired back irritably, as you can see in the tweet below.
