Lil WeezyAna Fest: Lil Wayne Brings Out Drake – Watch

They might not be the closest of pals right now, but their relationship dates back years to when the Canadian was signed to Lil Wayne’s record label. So maybe it shouldn’t be surprising then that the two should link up again.

New Orleans was agog over the weekend for the Lil WeezyAna Fest. Cash Money Records boss Lil Wayne was headlining the event and popped onto the stage on Saturday as the headlining act. Of course, it would have been just another act, except the songster spiced things up a bit.

Late into his performance, he paused a bit and stoked a fever of anticipation in fans when he stated verbatim: “Can you please make some noise for this foreigner? Let’s show him a good time in America.”

Well, it turned out that the “foreigner” was no other than the “Certified Lover Boy” of Canadian rap, Drake, who was once signed to Lil Wayne’s record label. In fact, Wayne was pivotal to Drake’s rise to superstardom as a rapper.

On stage, Drake and Wayne performed the number She Will.” After that, Drake went on to solo performances of songs like In My Feelings,” “God’s Plan,” “Nonstop,” and “Jimmy Cooks,” among others.

By the way, the Lil WeezyAna Fest was initially scheduled to take place in August this year but had to be rescheduled.
