Social media users lament as lockdown rules are flaunted at Biggie’s funeral.
Mzansi was thrown into mourning with the announcement of Biggie’s death on the 1st day of July. The news took literally everyone by surprise. It was revealed that they Gqom singer had suffered a chronic heart condition which led to his death.
A funeral ceremony was held in his honour on Sunday, 5th July, and social media users were shocked at how much the lockdown rules were flaunted. According to reports and videos circulating the net, alcohol was consumed, there weren’t any use of nose masks, and over 50 people were spotted enjoying Dlala Mshunquisi’s performance.
You need not be told that social distancing was not observed. This led to a lot of uproar on social media with the hashtag “it will end in tears” trending. While many criticized the blatant disregard of the lockdown rules, others hailed them for doing it.
