AKA is no longer on the material plane, and members of his family are still mourning him, including his mother, Lynn Forbes, who recently gave insights into the rapper’s last words to his daughter.
Lynn, who has been unable to bring herself to watch the CCTV footage of the shooting, spoke during a recent podcast appearance with Carol Ofori.
Recalling AKA’s last words to his daughter, Lynn noted that he had told Kairo that he loved her and would miss her. He couldn’t wait for her to be back.
Sadly, those words would be the last he would speak to his daughter, as he never got to see her again. AKA was gunned down alongside his former manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, on February 10 just after stepping out of Widh Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. He collapsed to the floor, bloodied. Chaos erupted on the scene as everyone scampered for safety.
It’s been three months since his assassination, but his killers have not been found. The inability of the police to fish out the killers has been a source of provocation to his fans, collectively called the Megacy.
