June 10 makes it precisely four months since South African rapper AKA was shot dead in the streets, but he is forever fresh in the memories of those who love him, most especially his mother, Lynn Forbes.
In a post on her official Instagram page, she had shared a picture of AKA and his only child Kairo Forbes as they had a good time together. In the caption, she indicated that having his music and YouTube channels are not enough.
Their private moments counted for something more than anything else, including the things he left behind. It’s just so sad that he’s gone, and she can no longer hear from him again — she can no longer hear him call him mom. You can check out her post below.
AKA’s death was one shocking hit that South Africans have yet to get over it. The songster had popped into Durban for a show which did not eventually hold. So he decided to hang out with his associates at Wish Restaurant on Florida Road. Soon after stepping out of the restaurant, an assassin walked briskly towards him and shot him at point-blank range.
Thus ended an era. Thus ended a brilliant music career. Thus began the grief of Lynn Forbes.
