Mabala Noise Label Has Shut Down

Nasty C’s former record label Mabala Noise has reportedly shut down.

There was once a time when labels like Mabala Noise and Ambitiouz Entertainment were the top labels in the country. They were home to some of the country’s biggest music artists, and they recorded so much growth through the years.

According to a recent report by Zimoja, Mabala Noise has shut down. The label, like Ambitiouz Entertainment, has been plagued by losing some of its top artists. An insider for Zimoja shared that their last artist Mnqobi Yazo has gone independent. Fakaza reports that the label was once home to Khanyi Mbau, Nasty C, Letoya Makhene, Gigi Lamayne, Maraza, Zakwe, and others.

Zimoja wrote, ‘Mabala Noise was originally formed in 2015 by DJ Bongz and called Mabalabala until the Durban jock joined forces with former ANC Youth League treasurer general Mzwakhe Reginald Nkabinde, and it was renamed Mabala Noise. At the height of its success, the company signed the country’s top artists. In 2020, the CEO of the once star-studded record label said, “Mabala Noise didn’t die but just went through a rough patch,”
