South African podcast host MacG has been praised by his compatriots for calling out DJ Maphorisa a while back over his decision to appropriate the copyright of songs made at his studio.
In a clip which trended back then, DJ Maphorisa pointed out that he would retain the copyright of every song made using his musical equipment and studio.
His logic was that since he was the one providing the electricity, as well as the one who owns the studio where musicians create their songs, and even though he may not have written those songs, the copyright belonged to him.
Well, MacG is being praised right now over a recent revelation by Limpopo rapper Shebebeshxt that he is having issues with DJ Maphorisa after featuring him on the song “Tweka.”
That song was a big hit across South Africa and continues to make waves at grooves. Shebeshxt’t’s revelation had fans praising MacG for his foresight in calling out Maphorisa on how he treats other musicians who work with him and with his equipment.
