“Ngeke Balunge.”? Remember that song? It is one of the South African group Mafikizolo’s most loved works to date. Expected, it has been climbing in fan views on YouTube.
The music video of the song was uploaded to YouTube on 6 February 2020. It provoked great excitement in South Africa at the time of release, confirming the position of Mafikizolo as one of the most engaging groups in South African music.
Four months after the video premiered, it has not only surpassed the expectation of the artistes but those of their fans as well. As at today 10 June 2020, the music video has surpassed over 4 million views on YouTube.
This milestone should surprise no one, however. “Ngeke Balunge” is a work of quality, didactic but not cloying. We enjoyed watching it back then. Even now, months after, the music video retains its visual appeal.
Mafikizolo member Nhlanhla Nciza recently took to Instagram to thank fans for supporting the group, urging those who haven’t watched the video to go watch it. By the way, the video is included in this post, for your viewing pleasure.
