Popular Venda singer Makhadzi has reportedly parted ways with Open Mic Productions following the expiration of her contract with the record label. According to multiple reports, her contract expired in March 2023, and she was expecting to hear from the label on a possible renewal.
However, she got no word about that even when a new month, April, popped into the horizon. As a result, she reportedly sent an email to the record label, officially ending things with them. In that sense, the separation was amicable, unlike what obtains in, say, Ambitiouz Entertainment.
Makhadzi had a productive relationship while signed to Open Mic Production, which is also home to the likes of Prince Benza and Master KG. Just recently, the record label had to clarify that, contrary to what was claimed by some blogs, she was not attacked in Zimbabwe. there was just a security glitch which was caused by the negligence of the show promoter,
Having officially ended her relationship with Open Mic Productions via the email she sent to the record label, Makahdzi has the world open before her. Now she can go so – found her own record label. But would she? The coming days should tell us a lot. Stay tuned.
