Fast rising South African rapper, Makwa has finally kicked off his new year with a long-anticipated single on which he scored the feature of industry giants, AKA and Maraza.
Titled “Ayipheli”, the song is the first release from Makwa this year and it features industry heavyweights, he would be hoping to use this as a springboard to greater things and what better way can there be than collaborating with two of the industry’s finest?
The RAPLYF RECORDS artist released a body of work titled “Umshubelo” in December which featured the likes of Emtee, Howard, Berita, Gobi Beast and Tweezy. The EP enjoyed rave reviews from industry insiders and fans at large. AKA and Maraza beside him this time will be an attempt to catch public attention and gain even more footing and recognition in the industry.
What these collaborations have the potential of doing is to let fans know that he has the backings and endorsements from industry old Gs. After all, if a newbie is attracting this much attention, there must be something special about him, that is the vibe we are getting from Makwa’s new song “Ayipheli” and his recently released EP.
Makwa shows a glimpse of genius on “Ayipheli,” and it comes with a video that sees the three artists performing in a public area packed with fans. The vibrant fashion combination and free movement from the artists and fans represents a summer vibe. Kwesta, Yanga Chief and a few others are cameos on the music video.
