Topflight South African football club Mamelodi Sundowns have clinched a vital partnership with Roc Nation Sports.
It would have been just another partnership, but as you well know, Roc Nation is owned by one of the wealthiest musicians in the world, Jay-Z. so this means a lot to the South African champions ― and indeed to many South Africans, as should be apparent from their responses to the deal.
In a statement, the DStv premiership champions indicated the basis for the partnership was to “drive change through impactful initiatives and alignments, with the greater purpose of uplifting communities and lives.”
Also, the brand indicated it is proud and excited to be associated with a renowned brand like Roc Nation Sports. This association, it said, will empower its vision of becoming one of the best football clubs in Africa.
Mamelodi Sundowns has managed to earn the respect of the followers of the PSL and football lovers in Africa generally. The Roc Nation Sports partnership indicates the club has ambitions beyond the border of South Africa.
By the way Mamelodi Sundowns are the first South African club to sign a partnership with Roc Nation Sports.
