A man writes about meeting a proud DJ, Tira, at the OR Tambo Airport and the incident that ensued.
You know the saying, “Never meet your idols?” Some have shown the meaning by sharing their encounters with the famous people they have met. DJ Tira was previously in the news for firing his manager, Senzo Shezi.
The Afrotainment boss is in the news again after a man shared his encounter with the star in an elevator at the OR Tambo Airport. The man revealed that he asked the DJ to press the floor number he was stopping on, took off his shades, and asked if he knew who he was.
He wrote,
“Once met Dj Tira in an elevator at OR Tambo airport. He was standing next to the buttons so asked him to press ‘2’. He took off his shades and, looked at me in the eye and said, ‘mfwethu ucabanga ukuthi ngingubani mina?’ I reached and pressed the f*cking button myself, lmao.”
His story prompted other users to share their encounters with some of the country’s biggest celebs. Some also shared that Tira was nice when they met him.
@iamSenzesihle wrote about his encounter with the late Mampintsha. “I once met Mampintsha at Capello Nelspruit toilets. He came in, found me there alone by the urinals. I paid him no mind, so he made some comments about the door being noisy, I just said yup. He must have thought I don’t see him cause he started humming Umlilo on the spot.”
