South African actress and businesswoman Connie Ferguson is heading to Zimbabwe, where she will meet some of the forces driving the country’s cultural universe.
Prior to the visit, she had announced the trip via her verified Instagram page, noting there would be a welcome dinner at the Meikles Hotel in Harare on May 6 at 6 pm.
Hosted by Zodwa Mkandla, it was a black-tie event for which individuals hoping for a table had to fork out $200.
Tomorrow, Sunday, April 8, would see the celebrated actress hold a masterclass programme. Unlike the dinner, though, those looking to participate will only have to pay $10. The event will hold at the Old Mutuals Sports Club in Emerald Hill from 7 am to 9 am. Participants are encouraged to bring their skipping ropes. It’s a challenge, after all.
Nedbank Zimbabwe is sponsoring Connie’s trip to Zimbabwe. The bank’s senior manager, marketing, public relations and communication, Mary-Anne Kwidini, noted that the bank looks forward to a fruitful empowerment exercise and creating viable networks for all involved.
It is Connie’s first sponsored trip to Zimbabwe since her husband Shona Ferguson died last year from coronavirus complications. Mzansi has been encouraging and supporting her since the tragedy. Y’all ready for Connie?
