Not long after, someone had tweeted, thanking “Jerusalema” singer Master KG for buying him a house. It has since emerged that the man is no other than DJ Ngwazi.
At the time of the house gift, DJ Ngwazi had tweeted that he never knew he would one day wake up in the Johannesburg area to clean a house all his own. He had tagged Master KG to the tweet, thanking him for the gift. Master KG had responded, saying the DJ deserved what he got.
In a chat with Mnegi online, DJ Ngwazi detailed how he met the celebrated songster. According to him, when he me the songster for the first time, he wasted no time letting him know his music was powerful. They exchanged contacts then.
He said that Master KG arrived the music scene at a time when Nigerian music was dominant in Mzansi. But then he kept playing Master KG’s music.
Although they didn’t communicate much when they exchanged contacts, he indicated that Master KG contacted him later, asking him to head over to Gaborone where he (Master KG) was. There, thanks to Master KG, he performed on the QIMC stage. Master KG made him his personal DJ.
The next big gift for DJ Ngwazi was a house in Joburg.
