South African DJ, singer and record producer Master KG is officially a biggie in the music industry, having just launched his own record label called Wanitwamos Entertainment.
The “Jerusalema” hitmaker announced the launch himself in a recent Instagram post. Kings and queens, one of your faves has just got a home for his music.
Master KG is but one of several musicians who own record labels but who may still have deals with other, bigger and international, record labels. One such artiste is Cassper Nyovest, who runs Family Tree, and who had supported Master KG when his “Jerusalema” song blew up. Another is Prince Kaybee, who runs Low Key Records.
Although Master KG has launched his own record label, he’s still currently signed to Open Mic Productions, and it’s unknown when his contract will end. Maybe this is just a prelude to the end of his contract with them. Who knows?
