Master KG Secures MOBO Awards Nomination

“Jerusalema” hitmaker Master KG has been nominated for this year’s MOBO awards alongside some other significant voices in music.

Nominated alongside Master KG in the Best African Act category are Davido, Burna Boy, Fireboy DML, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Adekunle Gold, Wizkid, NSG, Stonebwoy, Afro B, and Shatta Wale.

It is clear Nigerians top the list, followed by Ghana, which has two nominees. Master KG’s nomination is especially significant in that he is the only South African nominated in this category.

In a recent tweet, the songster informed fans that he feels incredibly blessed to have been nominated. He should be, perhaps. He failed to secure a nomination for the South African Music Awards (SAMA) this year with his global hit “Jerusalema,” which provoked outrage in Mzansi.

But he has managed to snap almost every international award for which he was nominated. At the recently held AFRIMMA awards, he snapped plaques in four different categories, including Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Male Southern Africa.

He has also been crowned style Icon at this year’s South Africa Style Awards. However, his crowning scandalized many, who think his fashion sense is not particularly remarkable.

Well, what do you think of Master KG’s MOBO nomination?
