Mbongeni’s Brother Nhlanhla Ngema Opposes Alleged Plan To Exhume His Remains

Nigerian singer Fela’s words “double wahala for deadi bodi” might ring true in the tragic death of the musician Mbongeni Ngema last year. He has since been buried but that is not the end of the story.

An attempt is being made to exhume his remains and reinter the same elsewhere, a move that has seemingly infuriated his brother Nhlanhla Ngema, who also serves as the family’s spokesperson.

He noted that the family was not consulted in the plan to exhume the late musician’s body from the cemetery where it is currently buried.

A great buzz erupted over the planned exhumation, with many South Africans chipping in their thoughts. Some felt the late playwright should be left alone to continue his rest where he currently is.

With Ngema’s brother currently pushing the same narrative, it will be interesting to see what happens next.

By the way, Ngema died while returning from an associate’s burial last year. It was the sort of news that one wouldn’t want to hear during the Christmas period, But life happened and he was taken away from the public, never to return.

Well, it remains to be seen which side will actually prevail in the ongoing plan to exhume Ngema.
