Sometimes the unexpected happens and hitherto unknown figures find themselves in the public eye, adored and celebrated for just being who they are.
A splendid example of this reality is none other than a hitherto unknown Brazilian lawyer, Leonardo Muylaert, who happens to have a striking resemblance to Superman, also called Clark Kent.
Two years ago, in 2022, at the Comic-Con convention in Sao Paulo, Leonardo Muylaert was spotted by someone who thought he was Clark Kent, The spotter surreptitiously took photos and videos of him at the time.
The star-struck Superman fan wanted to know whether Leonardo Muylaert was Clark Kent, Well, he wasn’t. But that moment would mark a turning point in Leonardo Muylaert’s life.
For one, from being just another bloke in Brazil, he has become a much-beloved figure, as many people now see him in the image of their Superman hero. Leonardo Muylaert had become a celebrity, with all the trappings that come with the same.
If one had told Leonardo that he would have this moment – being misidentified as Superman and ultimately being seen as Brazil’s version of the iconic character – he would probably have doubted it. But life happened, and here he is, famous and loved for good.
