The Metro FM Music Awards has come and gone, but the memories are still pretty fresh. One thing captured the attention of many during the event – the countenance of the singer Babes Wodumo. She was on the stage with DJ Tira when he was giving his acceptance speech after winning an award, but didn’t look or appear happy.
Everyone on the stage was exuberant, including DJ Tira. However, Babes Wodumo, who stood on a corner beside others who were on the stage with the “Ikhenani” singer looked somewhat detached and forlorn = like someone who would have loved to be somewhere else.
Her behaviour caught the attention of her compatriots, and in no time she started trending on Twitter, with tweeps asking what could have been wrong with her. While some people sp[eculated that she was missing her husband, Mampintsha, who died on Christmas day last year, so offered that something must be plaguing her in the spirit.

Whatever the issue, probably only Babes Wodumo knows at this point, and she is yet to address it at the time of writing.
The “Gqom Queen” recently indicated that she is ready to find love again – this time with a white man. Many South Africans applauded that choice.
