After a five-year hiatus, the Metro FM Music Awards has returned, and submissions are invited from members of the public.

In a series of tweets, Metro FM announced to the public that the award was returning after a five-year break. It also claimed the award is not only back but better, with submissions opening at midnight on 19 January 2023. It also clued the public in on where to watch the live broadcast.

South African media personality Lerato Kganyago was picked as the MC for the evening – a decision that appeared to have delighted many social media users despite the controversies that have enveloped her of late.

Interestingly, the MC role came at a time the Lerato Kganyago announced that she will be returning to YouTube and even dropped a teaser of a new video on her verified Instagram page while urging her fans to subscribe to her channel.
