Winning the 2023 Miss South Africa beauty contest was a dream come true for Natash Joubert. This win has empowered her to embark on another journey to fulfil another dream she has had all along.
Natasha’s win was marred by controversy, with some tweeps noting that she wasn’t deserving of the awards. Dr Musa Mthombeni, for instance, made it clear that her crowning was akin to a CIT heist – that is, a cash-in-transit heist. He listed someone else he thought was more deserving of the Miss SA crown.
Anyway, to each his verdict. Natasha has gotten her crown, and other isn’t much anyone can do right now. For her part, though, she now has the empowerment to do a lot for herself and for her community – something she has already embarked upon.
By her own account, speaking during a sit-down with a media house, her focus as the new Miss SA is on education. Already. she is working with some schools on coding scholarships for women. She is looking forward to giving about 25 scholarships.
All eyes are now on the new Miss SA to see how she actualises the projects she has set for herself to accomplish. Stay tuned for updates.
