Mixed Reactions As Second Amapiano Awards Is cancelled Last-Minute

The Amapiano Music Awards this year has been cancelled, leaving many South Africans puzzled and some angry over how the issue is being handled.

It was to have been the second Amapiano Awards, with invitations already sent out and guests already at the venue of the event in Sandton. But those who showed up for the vent were stunned by the notice that the awards had been cancelled at the last minute.

The last-minute cancellation miffed a lot of people. especially those who had taken the trouble to prepare and show up for the event.

The Galleria in Sandton, where the event was supposed to be held, had the sign: “Amapiano Awards cancelled due to non-payment from organisers.” In other words, the organisers did not fulfil their financial obligations and are therefore unable to hold the event as scheduled.

The organisers of the award, Qhubani “DJ Qness” Ndlovu and Pleasure Adams, were reportedly on the ground for the show but vanished soon after, leaving many questions unanswered.

Allegedly, the Amapiano Awards is plagued by other controversies, according to sources, from the ownership of the brand to allegedly financial impropriety. The details are still sketchy but it would be long before things blow into the open.
