Mixed Reactions Trail Black Coffee Son Esona’s Cotton Fest Performance (Watch)

Like father like son? Maybe. But Black Coffe’s DJ son Esona failed to impress some of his compatriots with his performance at the Cotton Fest Music Festival.

The festival was founded by Riky Rick, a hip hop ace who took his life years ago after a prolonged battle with depression. It was a shocking turn of events as many had not seen it coming despite veiled messages about his mental struggles online.

Anyway, he might be dead, but the festival he founded continues to flourish and keep his memory alive. The latest event is a testament to the flourishing of a dream he founded.

Well, back to Esona’s performance. In a post on his X account, the blogger Musa Khawula shared a clip of Esona at the decks, doing what he knows best. From the angle the clip was taken, the resemblance between him and Black Coffee cannot be missed.

The only thing is that some of those who watched the clip were unimpressed, and they said so out loud. Some thought he wasn’t good enough and should focus on anything other than music. See the post below.

The question is, will Esona listen to them? Time should have an answer to that question.
