The drama continues for AKA following the tragic death of his fiancée Anele “Nelli” Tembe. This time the amount the “Fela in Versace” rapper paid for her lobola has been called to question.
Previously, the press had reported that AKA paid the sum of R300k for her lobola. Nelli Tembe’s father Moses denied this in a statement, however. According to him, discussing the amount paid for lobola is a cultural taboo.
In fact, according to him, the amount wasn’t even discussed with Nelli Tembe. He said his family and its affairs are private that was why no one in the family dared disclosed how much was paid for lobola.
He insists, nonetheless, that contrary to what the press has been peddling, the amount paid for lobola is nowhere near R3ook.
By the way, responding to AKA’s claim that he was denied a chance to speak at Nelli Tembe’s funeral, Moses Tembe had said that AKA never indicated he wanted to speak – nor was he denied from speaking at the memorial service and at the funeral.
