Moses Tembe On AKA Not Speaking During Nelli Tembe’s Funeral

Moses Tembe, the father of the late Anele “Nelli” Tembe, has revealed that Nelli’s fiancée Kiernan “AKA” Forbes never made a request during her funeral and therefore didn’t speak.

He was responding to AKA’s claims that he was denied a chance to speak at the funeral. AKA had spoken in a tell-all interview shared on Yotube over the weekend, detailing his relationship with the late Nelli as well as his shock on not seeing his name on the programme docket.

He said he was puzzled that he, the spouse of the deceased, was not given a chance to speak but the police minister Bheki Cele was allowed to speak.

Speaking on AKA’s claims, Moses Tembe insisted that a memorial service was held all week, including the funeral service, and AKA’s father and friends spoke. But AKA didn’t make a request to speak. He said Bheki Cele speaking at the funeral was the prerogative of the proramme director – a courtesy to the minister. Bheki, Moses Tembe insists, had been to other funerals as well.
