The famous Mpho Popps bags the Comedian of the Year Award at the 11th Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards, and fans believe he deserves it.
Famous comedian Mpho Popps has hit another milestone in his career and his fans are proud of him. According to reports, he was awarded Comedian of the Year at the 11th Annual Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards.
TimesLIVE reports that the award ceremony was in partnership with Savanna Premium Cider, Mrs Ball’s, LIFT, Comedy Central and One-eyed Jack, and it took place on Saturday at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg. The comedy star beat out the likes of Schalk Bezuidenhout and comedienne Celeste Ntuli, who previously walked away with two Comics’ Choice awards to win the award.
He took to his X page and shared his gratitude to the organizers of the award show and his supporters.
“Thank you to God and my ancestors who protect me. Most importantly, thank you to my comrades in comedy. To get this nod from my comrades means a lot. It’s only sinking in now, but this means so much to me; thank you.”
His fans also congratulated him on the big win. One fan wrote, “You deserve all that and more Big Man 🙌❤️ it’s about time!!!”
