The MTV Africa Music Awards #MAMAs2021 scheduled to happen in Kampala, Uganda has been postponed.
Today would have marked two weeks to the airing of Africa’s most exciting and entertaining music awards, the MTV Africa Music Awards #MAMAs2021. A recent info shared by MTV Base shows that the event has been postponed for unknown reasons.
From all that we saw on TV and also on social media in the previous weeks, it seemed everything was going great, until the news was shared. The music channel is yet to share more information on the impromptu postponement, or reveal a new date for it to happen.
Fans have speculated that it might be due to the ban on music events in the country as a result of COVID. Recall that Nigerian Afro pop stars, Omah Lay, and Tems were arrested last year following their performances in the country. We will keep you posted with more information on this.
