It was a time of candor for Mzansi singer and actress Nandi Madida on the set of Lasizwe’s Drink or Tell the Truth show, as she bared her mind on her husband Zakes Bantwini’s production skills.
On the show, Nala admitted that the Scorpion King DJ Maphorisa was a better music producer than her husband. However, she placed her husband next to Maphorisa, while bringing in DJ Black Coffee at number three.
She gave no reason for placing Black Coffee in the third position, but it is clear enough for whoever has been following the politics of South African music.
Black Coffee and Zakes Bantwini were cool recently but it appears like fissures had developed in their relationship and Black Coffee had stated that although Zakes Bantwini’s song “Osama” was great, he wouldn’t play it.
By the way, the show Drink or Tell the Truth has been around for some time. Guests on the show are required to tell the truth when questions are thrown at them, and in cases where they are reluctant to tell the truth, they would have to drink from a (supposedly bitter) cup that the Lasizwe’s media manager had prepared.
So far, guests have been telling “the truth.”
