Mzansi Blasts Police Authorities Over Statement On AKA Murder Investigation

The drama continues in the battle to unearth the killers of South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes. Just recently, the KwaZulu-Natal police authorities noted that they had identified the killers of the “Fela in Versace” musician.

Ordinarily, the report should have provoked excitement among South Africans. it turned out that many of them were actually unimpressed and had no faith in the claims of the police authorities. Some slammed the police for making the announcement, citing how it could trigger the escape of the supposed suspects.

The logic is that, if the suspects know the police are aware of their involvement in the musician’s murder, they would make every attempt to escape before the police get them.

AKA was gunned down on February 10 this year, just after stepping out of Wish Restaurant in the company of some of his associates, including his former manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, who was killed with him.

AKA had reportedly been warned not to visit Durban because a price was on his head, But he visited anyway, and the result was tragic – a death that many South Africans are still struggling to come to terms with.

It remains to be seen what will follow after this important announcement from the police authorities.
