Mzansi Celebrates The Late Legendary Radio Presenter “Bob Mabena” Today

Bob “The Jammer” Mabena might be dead, but his legacy isn’t stuttering. Not at all. On the contrary, The Rainbow Nation is remembering him and in beautiful ways, too.

Today August 10 marks a year since the radio presenter died at the age of 51. He was born in 1969 in Atteridgeville, Pretoria, South Africa. He married Eucharist Hadebe in 2015. Five years later, he died of cardiac arrest.

A year after his death, South Africans poured into the streets of social media to celebrate him as well as his impact in the world of South African radio. The deceased’s employers, Power 98.7 FM, were not left out.

In a tweet, Power 98.7 FM described him as a broadcasting legend while urging him to rest in power. The station also spoke of the interview it had with the deceased’s wife Eucharist. You can check out the tweet below.

To some social media users, Bob Mabena was one of the finest voices that ever graced South African radio.

Fellow broadcast journalist AB Dacosta noted that the memories and lessons from Bob Mabena lives in. he ended up describing “The Jammer” as a legend.
