Maskandi artist Khuzani Mpungose attempted to recreate the iconic moment of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema during the recent EFF 10th anniversary celebration.
During that occasion, Malema had popped on a crane lift, which lifted him into the air a bit as his supporters unleashed a storm of confetti in celebration of the red collective’s 10th year in existence. The moment has been described as iconic, with Malema described as the man of the moment.
Long after he enacted that moment, it remained a subject of conversation. It turned out Maskandi artist Khuzani was sufficiently impressed with it to attempt to recreate it. The scene was the Gcwalisa Mabhida Maskandi Festival and the songster thought it would be wonderful to do something similar.
And he did. Taking to his official Twitter page soon after, he shared a snap from the moment, which showed him in the crane, lifted high above his audience. In the caption to the tweet, he noted that history has been recorded. You can check out the post below.
The clip amused some South Africans, who made fun of him and accused him of aping into Malema’s actions, One fan even called him “Malema lite.”
