The power of music to inspire, encourage and even break the motional dams of many people is well documented. Now and then, more evidence pop up to amplify what the world knows already.
This reality was manifest recently through none other than the South African disc jockey and producer Oscar Mbo. In a clip making the rounds online, he could be seen getting emotional while performing the song “Yes God.”
He was having his turn at the decks and was so consumed by the song that emotions took over. It was all good, though, as the performance resonated with many South Africans, who not only praised the songster but praised the song as well.

That moment was a beautiful departure from the sporadic controversies that have plagued he producer, including taking money from a show promoter but not performing. He’d had to refund the payment made to him after being called out multiple times.
Anyway, that’s in the past. It is doubtful any of his fans had that moment in mind when he was treating them to “Yes God” and getting emotional at the decks. Go ahead and watch the clip of Oscar getting emotional at groove and make of it what you will.
