When members of two moneyed families are photographed together and the picture makes it to the internet, a lot is bound to be said by the public. That was exactly what happened recently when Tumelo Ramaphosa, son of the current president Cyril Ramaphosa, shared a picture of himself and Patrice Motsepe, South Africa’s mining magnate.
The picture ignited attention almost immediately, with many South Africans choosing to focus on the wealth of their families. “Million-dollar pic!” declaimed one excited fam, affirming what many already know – Motsepe being a dollar billionaire (at some point anyway).

By the way, Patrice Motsepe and Tumelo are no strangers to each other. President Ramaphosa is married to Patrice Motsepe’s sister. which means that the billionaire is an uncle to Tumelo. So, yes, that’s a family affair right there – the picture of them together so to speak.
Motsepe was once touted to replace Ramaphosa following the corruption case against him, but it is unlikely he would want to create enmity with his brother-in-law by contesting against him.
