Nadia Nakai Clinches Second Gold Plaque With “Naaaa Meeean”

South African rapper Nadia Nakai has earned her second gold plaque, with the song “Naaaa Meeean,” and she’s more than happy to let the world know of this milestone in her career.

In a post to Instagram, she had described the milestone as crazy, noting it wasn’t her first gold plaque but it means just as much. She had also thanked all those who streamed the song and made her reach gold.

In the same post, she had thanked Family Tree boss Cassper Nyovest, who collaborated with her on the song, as well as her manager Bash.

By the way, Nadia Nakai is no longer signed to Family Tree. The prelude to her exit was her appearance on the finale of the first season of The Braai Show, which was hosted by AKA, Cassper Nyovest’s rival. (Cassper now hosts the second season).

Nadia Nakai had earned her first gold status with a song titled “More Drugs,” which featured Tshego. The song was inspired by her breakup with Bandile Mbere of the South African boy band Major League DJz.

Following the breakup she had dated the American rapper Vic Mensa and quietly broken up with him. She had revealed the split during an appearance on local comedian Lasizwe’s Drink Or Tell The Truth podcast.
