South African rapper Nadia Nakai is navigating a lonely bend at this point in her life. So it may not come as a surprise how she reacted when she was asked if she would have kids.
The songstress was devastated earlier this year when her lover AKA was assassinated in the streets. He had just walked out of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban when he was shot at point-blank range. He collapsed on the streets – never again to share the embrace of Nadia and others who loved him.
Before his assassination, Nadia Nakai had made it clear that she was ready to have his kids, and AKA himself had not contradicted her when she made the statement. So it was understood that the two were working towards that goal. But death took him away from her.
Alone now and with no man supposedly in her life following the death of AKA, is Nadia Nakai having a child anytime soon? This was one of the questions she was asked during a recent sit-down with The Shade Room.
In response to that question, she noted that, for now, it is between her and her dog following AKA’s death – a lonely space without him, but she is coping.
