Nadia Nakai recently got signed to Def Jam Africa records and she revealed what the new management meant to her.
Def Jam Africa recently just got launched and it got South African artists like Tshego, Nadia Nakai, Cassper Nyovest, Boity Thulo and Nasty C signed to it.
Nadia Nakai’s speaking about why she thinks artists in South Africa are getting signed under the label, revealed that it felt more like a rap movement to her and said it felt amazing to be one of the artists signed under the record.
In her words;
It feels amazing to be honest with you because I grew up watching the music videos with that Def Jam logo at the end and it felt like it was the fraternity of Hip Hop. A lot of the artists that I listen to like Ludacris and DMX were part of that label.
Nadia Nakai further emphasized that her hard work over the years brought her the major deal and she’s excited not just to be part of a record label but to be part of a movement.
South African Hip-Hop artists are further getting recognized by international brands this days and it fully means the industry is going.
