It’s been a rollercoaster ride for South African rapper Nadia Nakai following the assassination of her boyfriend AKA. It’s been a struggle for her, but she recently updated her fans about her current state. It’s not been an easy run, of course, but she is plodding ahead.
According to her, she’s in several spaces and can’t help but imagine that AKA is in them as well. These days, when she thinks about her lover, who was gunned down in February, the tears flow fast. AKA’s death on February 10 this year stunned the Rainbow Nation. He was shot at point-blank range by an assassin as he stepped out of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. He was in the company of his associates at the time, of whom, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, his former manager, was killed with him.
An investigation is currently underway into AKA’s killing. So far, the public is becoming impatient with the way the police are handling the case, with tweeps insisting the police must make sure the case isn’t swept under the carpet
