On August 5 this year, Nigerian singer Wizkid will release a new album dubbed “More Love Less Ego.” That body of work has an all-star cast including the BritonSkepta, controversial Nigerian singer Naira Marley, the “celestial being” Ayra Starr, singer Buju, America’s Ty Dolla $ign and South Africa’s Flvme.
Of the artists on the guest list, though, Naira Marley is currently generating the most controversy, with some peeps saying Big Wiz should not have co-opted the Marlian Nation head honcho.
One of Naira Marley’s fans had railed angrily at those criticizing Wizkid’s album. According to her, the same critics would say the same thing if Naira Marley carried Wizkid on his song if it eventually blew up.
Another noted that Wizkid makes good music with any artist, so there’s no reason to believe his work with the songster wouldn’t be a smash hit.
Anyway, it would be interesting to see what the two musicians will put out eventually and what impact it will make. For now, Naira Marley is basking on the success of his recently released album, “God’s Timing’s the Best.”
Of course, we will share Wizkid’s album when it pops in the first week of August. Just get ready for the big bang.
