Nandos Honours Boxing Legend Dingaan Thobela Following His Passing

Popular fast food franchise Nandos has paid tribute to Mzansi boxing legend Dingaan Thobela following his passing on Tuesday, 30 April 2024 after suffering an illness.

Mzansi is mourning the death of a legend. According to a report by Briefly News, boxing legend Dingaan Thobela passed away on 30 April after suffering an illness. He was 57 years old. The late boxing legend won three world titles in two separate divisions and was fondly known as the ‘Rose of Soweto’.

The publication writes that he won his first title by capturing the WBO lightweight championship in 1990, and also proved his versatility after winning the WBC super middleweight belt in 2000. He has been honoured by his fans and popular figures in the country who took to social media to celebrate his legacy.

Popular fast food franchise Nandos also shared a tweet honouring the late legend. They wrote,

“To a lightweight champ with a heavyweight legacy.”

Mzansi praised them for paying tribute to Thobela, who bidding him farewell.

Mark Anthony Harris shared his admiration for the late boxer, “One of the greatest the world has ever seen.”
